Novatek unit’s oil reservoir explodes in Russia’s north, kills two
MOSCOW, Apr 20 (PRIME) -- An oil reservoir at a field of Russian oil and gas producer Novatek’s unit located in the northern Yamalo-Nenets Autonomous District exploded at about 8.30 a.m. Moscow time on April 18, killing two people, sources in the regional rescue team told PRIME.
The oil storage unit, with a capacity of 1,000 cubic meters, caught fire, which was put out at 9.02 a.m., the regional emergency ministry’s office said in a statement.
